Forgotten God: The Fruit Giver

Forgotten God

“Known By Your Fruit"

The greatest argument for the reality of the Holy Spirit is not a sign or a wonder — it is a transformed life. A life where love is not a performance but a posture. Where joy is not manufactured for Sunday morning but sustained through Monday's disappointments. Where peace is not the absence of difficulty but the presence of God in the middle of it. When love governs our relationships, joy marks our demeanor, peace rules our decisions, and self-control governs our appetites, the world cannot ignore the evidence. They may argue with your doctrine, but they cannot argue with your life. The Holy Spirit has come to produce in us what we could never produce ourselves — the very character of Christ, on full display, in every room we enter and every life we touch.

This is the mission of the Forgotten God, I mean, Holy Spirit.. Not to be named with our lips only, but to be surrendered to with the whole of our lives. We began this series with a recognition — that the Holy Spirit has been neglected, minimized, domesticated, and forgotten in much of modern Christianity. We close it with a challenge and an invitation: no more. Not in your home. Not in your church. Not in your daily decisions. The Helper is present. The Living Water is flowing. The Anointing is real and for every believer. The Fruit is possible. The only question that remains — the one each of us must answer on our own, in the quiet of an honest moment — is this: will we finally stop forgetting Him? This Sunday, Jay will close this sermon series explaining where the transformation of our character comes from in the sermon, "Known by Your Fruit."
